Her sister’s interest drew Lauren Verkamp to Trine University’s marketing program.

Lauren came to Trine with twin sister Megan to play volleyball, with Megan deciding early on to be a marketing major after taking a marketing class in high school.

“Megan spoke very highly of the program, and once I began, I loved the faculty and the program and all the opportunities a Trine business degree could give,” said Lauren.

Today she works as marketing manager for EnerDel, a battery manufacturing company in Indianapolis that builds lithium-ion batteries for mass transit and industrial applications and grid energy storage.

She said the critical thinking and independent study skills she learned in Trine’s marketing program prepared her to lead the team that manages EnerDel’s marketing.

“My hope for the future is to be able to keep growing in my field and work to become the best manager/leader I can be,” she said. “I also want to keep working for companies that have a significant impact on the communities they serve.”
