At Trine, I teach business and quantitative classes. In addition to teaching, a few years ago I retired as the director of quality for Superior Essex, North American Magnet Wire Division, Fort Wayne, Indiana. I worked for Superior Essex for more than 40 years with responsibilities that included manufacturing supervision, operations management, operational analytics, quality management, executive sales and technical engineering.
I have been happily married to my wife Amy for 45 years. We have two adult children, Brandon and Caitlin, 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. I retired to a lake home north of Columbia City, Indiana, where I enjoy fishing, swimming, and entertaining friends and family. I enjoy playing guitar and have a small collection of my favorites.
My credentials include an MBA from Indiana Tech as well as various other professional certifications. I am a Six Sigma Green Belt; I have been trained and educated in quality engineering; and I have completed course work for an ASQ Certified Quality Manager. My educational passion is analytics and statistics, and I have used statistics and data analysis most of my career.
My goal as an instructor is to teach students how to use decision-making tools that will enable them to develop analytical solutions to real-world problems. This is especially essential in today's fact-based decision-making environment.
