I enjoyed a blend of leading organizations in the nonprofit and for-profit sectors for more than 20 years until I found my niche in serving in higher education leadership. I have had the joy of leading virtual teams of over 350, developing countless courses and programs, and serving as dissertation chair. While working, I earned a Bachelor of Science in communication management, an MBA, and an Ed.D in leadership. During that time, I found my passion for research. My research interests include transactional distance, online faculty presence, nonprofit administration, online program development, and adaptive learning/personalized learning, to name a few. Research is a way of life for me.

My other more important passion is spending time with family. When time allows, I like to play my guitar, piano, swim or enjoy the outdoors.  Not all at once, of course! I serve local populations through training community leaders and serving within my local community food bank to provide necessities to the less fortunate, which is important to me.

My educational goal is to improve the online experience for adult learners, both as an instructor and an educational leader. Conflict resolution is a subject that never grows old for me, and I find listening to be a vital skill in today’s organizations. My continued aspiration is to be a mediator in every aspect of my life.
