Academically, I earned an A.S. in nursing (Ivy Tech Community College), a B.S.N. and M.S.N. in nursing leadership and management (Western Governors University), and a PhD. in nursing education (Capella University).  I am certified in geriatrics and dementia care, as well as a Certified Nurse Educator. 

I have been a registered nurse for many years, with background in orthopedics, geriatrics and education. I taught at a local community college for the past nine years, and I was department chair for nursing for four years.

In my spare time away from work, I enjoy spending time with my family and traveling whenever possible, hiking, and reading.
