Softball advances to Super Regional

Two big swings of the bat propelled the Trine University softball team to victory and a spot in the 2022 NCAA Division III Softball Championship Super Regional round as they defeated North Central (Ill.) College, 6-0, in the championship game of the Angola, Ind. Regional.

Sophomore Scarlett Elliott doubled to lead off the bottom of the fifth and senior Taylor Murdock cleared loaded bases in the same at-bat to give the Thunder a 4-0 lead.

Trine will host Case Western Reserve in the Super Regional beginning Friday, May 20. The event is a best-of-three series between the two teams.
