Tickets are on sale for the 11th annual performance of “Messiah” by the Steuben County Festival Choir in Trine University’s T. Furth Center for Performing Arts.
The 70-voice choir, directed by J. Joseph Peters, will be joined by a full orchestra including members of the Fort Wayne Philharmonic.
The performance begins at 7 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 18, in Trine University’s T. Furth Center for Performing Arts.
Tickets are $10 each and may be purchased at trineutickets.universitytickets.com. Proceeds benefit the Steuben County Humanities Fund, which gives grants to students of the arts.
Composed in 1741 by George Frideric Handel, “Messiah” is a time-honored Christmas tradition around the world, and still remains the most performed piece of music in the Classical repertoire. This annual performance is a wonderful way to continue the holidays, and provides a great close to the Furth Center Christmas concert series.
