Trine University honored faculty members with its annual year-end awards during a special ceremony Monday, April 25, in Sponsel Administration Building on the university’s Angola campus.
Several faculty received the McKetta-Smith Excellence in Teaching Awards, established by trustee emeritus and 1937 alumnus Dr. John J. McKetta in 1989.
Linda Conley, associate professor in the Ketner School of Business, was awarded the Prof. Gerald H. Moore Overall Excellence in Teaching Award as well as the Charles William, Nelle Paris and Mary Ann McKetta Excellence in Teaching Award in Business.
Alison Todd, assistant professor in the Franks School of Education, received the Helen Smith McKetta Excellence in Teaching Award.
Anna Glowinski, Ph.D., assistant professor in the Department of Science, received the Robert Ewing and Gail Stewart Smith Excellence in Teaching Award in Arts and Sciences.
Jennifer Lloyd, director of the surgical technology program, received the Merle J. and Anna Mae McKetta Thomas Excellence in Teaching Award in Arts and Sciences.
Sean Carroll, Ph.D., professor in Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, received the Charles and Sue Ragan Gelet Excellence in Teaching Award in Engineering.
Wendy Yagodinski, chair of the Department of Computer Science and Information Technology, received the Steve and Mary Yacynch McKetta Excellence in Teaching Award in Engineering.
Jeffrey Raymond, laboratory technician and instructor for the McKetta Department of Chemical and Bioprocess Engineering, received the Frank and Julia Gelet McKetta Excellence in Teaching Award in Engineering.
John Patton, Ph.D., assistant professor in the Bock Department of Biomedical Engineering, received the John J. and Mary Gelet McKetta Excellence in Teaching Award in Engineering.
Rocky Lo, Ph.D., lecturer in the Department of Psychology and Social Sciences, received the Robert Andrew and Anne Ewing Smith Excellence in Teaching Award in Arts and Sciences.
The university also announced the recipients of several other faculty awards:
Samuel Drerup, Ph.D., associate professor in the Department of Science, received the Barrenbrugge Award for Faculty Excellence, which recognizes all-around excellence in teaching, scholarship and service to the university.
Kendall Teichert, Ph.D., associate professor in the Wade Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, received the Jannen Renaissance Scholar Award, given to a faculty member who exhibits a breadth of interest and accomplishment consistent with Renaissance ideals and who encourages students and faculty to aspire to such breadth.
The College of Graduate and Professional Studies presented two additional awards. Andrea Bearman, director of instructional design and development, received the Open Education Resource award, given In recognition of exceptional service in promoting a culture of utilizing Open Education Resources. Von Plessner, Ph.D., received the CGPS Faculty Service Award In recognition of excellent service to TrineOnline and the College of Graduate and Professional Studies at Trine University.
The university presented Academic Service Awards, which recognize those who have gone well beyond regular duties and have committed an extraordinary amount of time, resources and dedication to the betterment of Trine University, to Isabel Soto, administrative assistant in the College of Graduate and Professional Studies, and Tracey Floto, executive director for assessment and accreditation and accreditation liaison officer.

Tusk, the Ultimate Fleetwood Mac Tribute, will bring the band’s greatest hits to the stage of Trine University’s T. Furth Center for Performing Arts on Friday, Nov. 17.
Angola Main Street and Trine University are hosting the second annual Trine Fest on Thursday, Aug. 24, in downtown Angola.
Recognizing the dramatic growth of its online and international programs, Trine University has promoted Keirsten Eberts to the new role of vice president of online and international studies.
