Though high employment numbers are the norm at Trine University, a 100% employment rate for any major still stands out.
Doing so for 10 straight years, particularly in an area that continues to grow, is unprecedented. Yet, for the 10th straight year, 100% of graduates from Trine’s Franks School of Education who were seeking employment as teachers are working in the classroom this fall.
“Trine University and the Franks School of Education are proud of our quality programs, and we are pleased that our employment numbers continue to reflect this quality – from the care and expertise of our faculty and the support of diverse education partners to the dedication of our teacher candidates,” said Tony Kline, Ph.D., dean of the Franks School of Education.
“The continuing demand for our graduates also speaks to the critical need for quality educators, and we are glad that an ever-increasing number of students are coming to Trine as education majors to make an impact on the lives of future generations.”
Twenty-six graduates from the Class of 2021 obtained teaching positions this fall. Nine are teaching in grades K-6, with the remainder in early childhood education, grades 7-12, or areas of special intervention or remediation. Area school corporations that hired Trine graduates include Fremont Community Schools, Wabash Community Schools, MSD Steuben, East Noble, Prairie Heights, Goshen Community Schools, Elkhart Community School, Fort Wayne Community Schools and East Allen County Schools.
Of the graduates who have reported over the past 10 years, more than 75 percent have obtained teaching positions in Indiana.
Enrollment in the Franks School of Education also continues to grow, with the school boasting 202 majors this fall, an almost 150% increase from its 82 majors in 2016.
