Trine’s MSO kicks off with Middle Eastern theme

Trine University’s Multicultural Student Organization (MSO) held its semester meet-and-greet kickoff on Wednesday, Aug. 19.

To maintain social distancing guidelines, the event was held on the lawn in front of the Rick L. and Vicki L. James University Center. About 60 students attended.

Co-sponsored by the Office of International Services, the kickoff featured a Middle Eastern theme with food from Sidon Lebanese Grille & Bakery in Toledo, Ohio. Students could choose one of three meals: rice and seasoned chicken; rice topped with lamb onions, and golden raisins; or falafel. Sides included homemade creamy hummus and green leaves, served with baklava, a Greek dessert.

MSO’s first general meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 2, in Fabiani Theatre. Light refreshments will be served. Come out and meet the executive board hear about upcoming events, including Open MIC Night, bonfire with ribs and s’mores, and monthly coffee and cookies at the Gazebo. All students are invited to participate in MSO.
