Alum named Michigan’s Young Engineer of the Year

Garrett T. Day, P.E., a 2009 civil engineering graduate from Trine University, was recently named the statewide Young Engineer of the Year by the Michigan Society of Professional Engineers (MSPE).

Day was honored during the organization’s annual conference in Grand Rapids, Michigan, on May 7. He previously had been named Young Engineer of the Year by MSPE’s Jackson Chapter on Feb. 22.

Day works as a transmission line engineer for Commonwealth Associates, Inc., in Jackson, Michigan. The company provides engineering and consulting services to utilities, independent power producers, municipalities, industrial clients, and some of the nation's leading academic, research and healthcare facilities.
