Biomedical Engineering takes Engineering Week honors

Trine University's Allen School of Engineering and Technology hosted several competitions between engineering departments to celebrate 2018 National Engineers Week, Feb. 19-23. Contests included an "Oreo Face" competition, where students wiggled an Oreo cookie from their forehead to their mouth using only facial and neck muscles, as well as Foundry Night, drone races, an Elvis Dancer competition, videos, banners, Jenga and Giant Skee Ball.

The Jim and Joan Bock Biomedical Engineering Department was declared the winner in a closing ceremony Friday, Feb. 23, in Fabiani Theatre.

INDIANAPOLIS — Bethany Morgan Schmitt, a Trine University sophomore from Fort Wayne, Indiana, majoring in exercise science/pre-physical therapy, was one of 29 first-generation Indiana college students named as a “Realizing the Dream” recipient by the Independent Colleges of Indiana (ICI).
