Sponsored by the National Education Association, Read Across America has been held each year on March 2, the birthday of Theodor Seuss Geisel (Dr. Seuss), since 1998. About 50 Trine University volunteers — including mascot Storm, football players and dancers — participated in the effort, reading in 55 classrooms at five area elementary schools. The university donated 100 Dr. Seuss books to the schools purchased through Kohl’s Cares, which supports children’s initiatives around the world. (Main photo by Dean Orewiler)
