CENTREVILLE, Mich. — Several members of the Trine University community participated in the MiCareerQuest event hosted by Glen Oaks Community College on March 28.

Glen Oaks welcomed about 750 ninth-graders from St. Joseph County, Michigan, for the event. More than 35 area employers, including Trine, offered activities to allow the students to become familiar with career options.

Tim Tyler, Ph.D., dean of the Allen School of Engineering and Technology, presented an activity at the event, as did Anne Mammel, a senior majoring in biomedical engineering; Ayasha Faria, a sophomore majoring in chemical engineering; and Jed Bowen, a junior majoring in chemical engineering.

INDIANAPOLIS — Bethany Morgan Schmitt, a Trine University sophomore from Fort Wayne, Indiana, majoring in exercise science/pre-physical therapy, was one of 29 first-generation Indiana college students named as a “Realizing the Dream” recipient by the Independent Colleges of Indiana (ICI).
