ANGOLA, Ind. – Spring signals a time for growth and that's definitely the case as Trine University and RISE, Inc., agree to partner on a new initiative.
The two are teaming up to establish a garden as part of Trine's farm to fork program that RISE (Rehabilitation & Industrial Services Enterprises, Inc.) will use for teaching its clients how to grow food and prepare nutritious meals. Trine will provide the ground and Bon Appetit Management Co., which provides campus food service, will purchase the fresh produce for use in student meals and at The Depot Grill.
The idea grew from a grant and day of volunteering offered to RISE by Farm Credit Mid America in LaGrange to work together on a project.
