Summary

Trine University invites applications for a faculty position in the Rinker-Ross School of Health Sciences. Primary teaching responsibilities will be in the Master of Physician Assistant Studies program in the areas of physiology, pathophysiology, and potentially other basic medical and/or clinical sciences depending on credentials and experience. The 12-month position is available now with the start date to be determined by agreement. Faculty rank will be based on experience.

The Trine University Rinker-Ross School of Health Sciences in Fort Wayne addresses a significant regional need for outstanding graduates and is being strongly supported by the region’s largest health systems. The School’s Master of Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS) and Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) programs are located in newly renovated, state of the art facilities on Parkview Hospital’s Randallia campus, near downtown Fort Wayne.

Candidates with a desire to participate in the implementation of a high quality, evidence based, and student-centered curriculum are encouraged to apply. Teaching in the areas of physiology and pathophysiology are the greatest need, but depending on individual qualifications and interests, opportunities exist for teaching in related areas such as pharmacology and anatomy.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

As a core member of the MPAS program faculty, the successful candidate will be responsible for contributing to teaching, advising and mentoring students, curriculum assessment, and engaging in scholarship and service activities.

Education and/or Experience

A PhD in physiology or a related field and demonstrated excellence in college level teaching, preferably at the graduate level; evidence of ability to successfully engage in research and the peer-reviewed dissemination of results. 

Salary

The salary is competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications.
