Psychology

The psychology minor is a 15 minimum credit hour program designed to give students broad exposure to psychology as a scientific and professional discipline. This program is relevant to students in all academic majors which involve working with people.

The minor is designed to provide undergraduate students with a broad overview of topics and domains within psychology. Students may select courses from within these areas: clinical, developmental, and social psychology.

PSY 113 Principles of Psychology

Choose 1 from Clinical Core courses:
PSY 323 Abnormal Psychology or
PSY 413 The Psychology of Addiction or
PSY 363 Counseling or
PSY 423 Counseling Theories and Practices

Choose 1 from Social Core courses:
PSY 333 Psychology of Personality or
PSY 343 Social Psychology or
PSY 373 Political Psychology

Choose 1 from Developmental Core courses:
PSY 223 Lifespan Developmental Psychology or
SOC 323 The Family or
PSY 353 Child and Adolescent Psychology

Psychology Electives 200 or above

Total Minor Program: 15 credit hours
