The Associate of applied science in surgical technology curriculum requires the completion of 71 credit hours of course work. Following is the proposed coursework (subject to change):

Semester One: Fall - 18 credit hours 

Introduction to Surgical Technology - 4 credit hours
Clinical Experience I - 4 credit hours
Anatomy and Physiology I - 4 credit hours
Medical Terminology - 3 credit hours
English Composition - 3 credit hours

Semester Two: Spring - 18 credit hours

Surgical Procedures l - 4 credit hours
Clinical Experience ll - 4 credit hours
Anatomy and Physiology II - 4 credit hours
Microbiology - 3 credit hours
One of the following
     Humanities Seminar *must be taken at Trine *needed for BS/HCA - 3 credit hours
     Interpersonal Communication - 3 credit hours
     Effective Speaking *required for BS/HCA - 3 credit hours
     Business Communication - 3 credit hours

Semester Three: Summer- 17 credit hours

Surgical Procedures ll - 4 credit hours
Clinical Experience III - 8 credit hours
Pharmacology - 2 credit hours
College Algebra -3 credit hours

Semester Four: Fall - 18 credit hours

Surgical Procedures III - 4 credit hours
Clinical Experience lV - 8 credit hours
Capstone - 3 credit hours
Principles of Psychology - 3 credit hours
