Beacon Fellowship

Rome, Italy

VeniceKelsey completed a four-week-long internship in Rome, Italy, with the Instituto Centrale Per I Beni Sonori Ed Audiovisivi (ICBSA) through the Beacon Fellowship. This internship combined hands-on consulting experience with immersive cultural experience.

"I worked alongside 16 other students," she said. "We completed a project that focused on three main areas: Provide a list of peer institutions/organizations, provide insight on how to increase fundraising, and provide insight on how to increase awareness. We were given multiple training videos to watch regarding consulting etiquette.

" This internship was an amazing experience because I was able to work hands-on in the consulting industry while also solo traveling for the first time and being forced to problem solve quickly. "- Kelsey Lounds

"At the end of my internship, we gave a presentation to top management that really forced me out of my comfort zone and, without a doubt, improved my public speaking skills. This internship was an amazing experience because I was able to work hands-on in the consulting industry while also solo traveling for the first time and being forced to problem solve quickly."
