I graduated in 1995 with a BS in physical therapy from the University of Toledo in consortium with the Medical College of Ohio. I was employed by the Medical College of Ohio (now the University of Toledo Medical Center) from 1995-2002, where I specialized in treatment of patients with spinal cord injury in the CARF-accredited in-patient rehabilitation hospital. In 2002, I earned my master’s degree in exercise science/biomechanics and began teaching part-time in a physical therapist assistant program as well as working in a skilled nursing setting and working toward completion of my PhD. In 2004, I began teaching in the physical therapy program at the University of Findlay in Ohio, where I taught courses in both neurological and musculoskeletal rehabilitation as well as the research series for 11 years. I earned my PhD in exercise science/biomechanics with a minor in research and measurement in 2008 from the University of Toledo.

I came to Trine University’s Doctor of Physical Therapy program in 2015 and have taught many different courses in the curriculum, including: Evidence Based Practice I, II and III; Clinical Practice I and II; Neuromuscular PT I; and Lifespan II. My current teaching duties are: Anatomy of Movement I and II; Musculoskeletal PT I and II; and co-instructor in Applied Neuroscience.  In 2015, I earned my certification in Manual Physical Therapy from the North American Institute of Manual Therapy (NAIOMT).

I also serve as associate director of the Trine DPT program and chair of the Trine University Institutional Review Board (IRB).

I continue to practice and provide out-patient PT services at Summit Rehabilitation in Northwood, Ohio. In 2017, I earned my certification in Equine Rehabilitation through the University of Tennessee-Knoxville, and provide rehabilitation services to horses in Indiana, Ohio and Michigan. My hobbies include working with and riding my three off-track Thoroughbred horses, hanging with my dog/cats, visiting wineries, travelling, hiking, reading and gardening.
