Dr. Almonroeder earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse and his PhD in Kinesiology from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. His areas of expertise are motor control, biomechanics, research methods, and statistics.

Dr. Almonroeder’s scholarly agenda primarily focuses on identifying neuromuscular factors that contribute to acute and overuse lower extremity injury among active individuals, such as athletes, recreational and competitive runners, and tactical athlete populations (e.g. military personnel, firefighters). He also investigates the effects of novel forms of movement pattern re-training, such as real-time visual feedback, with the goal of minimizing high-risk movement patterns. Dr. Almonroeder has over 40 PubMed indexed peer-reviewed publications and regularly presents his work at national and international conferences. He has also authored a textbook on the topic of applied statistics for rehabilitation professionals.

In his free time, Dr. Almonroeder enjoys spending time with his daughter Grace, son Jack, and wife Sarah. He also enjoys reading, writing, and being outdoors.
