I earned my B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and a B.A. in Arts and Humanities from Michigan State University, and an M.S. in Engineering Education from Purdue University. After completing my bachelor's degrees, I worked as a combined Design/Process engineer for Dart Containers in Mason, Michigan, where I worked in designing plastic products and their processes. While at Dart working in Production Support, I got involved with their college co-op and internship program. I enjoyed working with the students and decided I wanted to play a more direct role in preparing them for industry. This prompted me to go back to school for my master's and pursue a career in teaching.

In my free time, I am continuing my education toward earning a Ph.D. from Purdue University. I also enjoy traveling, swing dancing and playing video games and cards with my four siblings and nine niblings.
