After earning my doctorate, I spent five years working for WillowWood, a lower-limb prosthetic company, leading efforts in research and assisting product development and testing. As part of my term at WillowWood, I was a two-time recipient of the prestigious national Thranhardt Award for Prosthetic Research from the American Orthotic and Prosthetic Association. However, first and foremost, I had the honor to improve the lives of amputees by providing essential patient outcomes and advancing prosthetic products.
My passion for teaching has drawn me away from industry, and my enthusiasm remains
for bettering the lives of others. Since joining Trine University's Department of
Biomedical Engineering in 2013, I have been principally involved in enhancing the
biomedical engineering program. My focus areas of teaching include introduction to
biomedical engineering, biomaterials, bioinstrumentation and dynamics.
Outside teaching, I love spending time with family, especially my four beautiful girls.
