I have always been passionate about education. I remember telling my third-grade teacher all the reasons why I wanted to be an educator. Now, serving as the dean of the Franks School of Education alongside our incredible faculty and staff, my passion for teaching continues to grow.

I have been fortunate to work in educational settings on four continents. While each experience differs in many ways, one central theme remains true: I love walking with teacher candidates on their unique and challenging paths to become educators. It is my ultimate goal to prepare, inspire and support my students to become effective teachers who will change the lives of their future students.

My areas of publication and presentations include the educational impacts of mentoring, gender, race, culture, international travel, and social emotional intelligence.

I have been blessed to travel around the world with my wonderful wife. We enjoy raising our two children and spending time with family and friends.
