My passion for criminal justice and helping others has reached its pinnacle in teaching and training students to become successful members of the criminal justice community. I began teaching in 2011 and have never looked back.

My professional experience started with working in child protection. Eventually, I made my way to corrections and truly enjoyed managing a correctional facility and working with inmates on rehabilitation. The final stop before teaching full-time was working in community mental health. This might have been the most eye-opening career choice. I often tell my students I learned more from many of my clients suffering from severe mental illnesses than they ever did from me.

During my time in community mental health, I decided to go to law school. I wanted to learn to fight for individuals who were being taken advantage of in the legal system. I enjoy volunteering my time to help in legal cases for individuals that need GAL and guardianship services.

When I am not working, you will find me spending time with my husband and five rescue dogs (Manny, Sassy, Chopper, Chewie and Sirius) or volunteering on the board of the local humane shelter.
